DON’T JUST BE IRISH ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY. Now, you can be Irish every other Friday night while you enjoy a social outlet that lets you combine an enjoyable evening in a relaxing environment with aerobic exercise, good company and an opportunity to learn a bit of Irish Culture. You are invited to come and join us in the fun of Irish Social Dance. All you need to bring is yourself, a sense of humor, and a desire to participate in an enjoyable experience.
Irish Social Dancing is a course in which students learn the terminology, steps, movements and traditions of Irish Social Dancing. Irish Social Dancing is an energetic and enjoyable style of dancing that has been popular in Ireland for over 200 years. Irish Social Dancing should not be confused with the individual performance style of dancing known as Irish Step Dancing, as seen in Riverdance. Though there are many similarities between the two Irish Social Dancing focuses on dancing with partners and in groups.
These classes are free of charge and open to anyone interested in joining at anytime. No partner is necessary and the classes are held the first and third Friday night of each month from 7:30 to 9:00.
